Working characteristics of electronic regulators

The regulator controls the magnetic field current through the on/off of the transistor VT2. As the speed increases, the conduction time of the high-power transistor VT2 decreases and the cutoff time increases. This can reduce the average value of the magnetic field current, decrease the magnetic flux, and maintain the output voltage UB unchanged. The relationship between the output voltage UB and the magnetic field current If (average value) of the generator and the speed n is called the working characteristic of the electronic regulator.
From the working characteristic curve of the electronic regulator, it can be seen that n1 is the starting working speed of the regulator, which is called the working lower limit. As the generator speed increases, the magnetic field current decreases. When the generator speed is very high, due to the non-conductive nature of the high-power transistor, the magnetic field current is cut off, and the generator relies solely on residual magnetism to generate electricity. Therefore, the upper limit of the working speed of the electronic regulator is very high and the adjustment range is wide.
