How often is the car generator maintained?

It is generally better to check it during oil change.

The car generator is an important component in the automotive electrical system, with two main functions: supplying the needs of various electrical components; Charge the battery. To maintain a constant and stable power generation state of the generator while driving, the following maintenance work should be done regularly.

1. After driving a certain distance, adjust the tightness of the generator belt appropriately, and then fix the calibration screws as needed. The bracket screws of the generator should maintain a certain tightness.

2. Pay attention to the wear level of the bearings. If insufficient lubrication is found, a few drops of engine oil can be dripped from the oil cup mouth. Be careful not to infiltrate the rectifier, otherwise it will affect the power transmission effect.

3. The rectifier has accumulated dirt, which can be polished with a fine sandpaper.

4. The contact surface of the electric brush is uneven and can be smoothed with a fine sandpaper. Insufficient elasticity of the spring and excessive wear of the electric brush require replacement with new parts. The electric brush is too short without damage, and a gasket can be inserted into the bracket to ensure a tight fit with the rectifier.

5. The insulation of the brush holder is damaged and needs to be replaced with new parts.

6. The pole of the generator is loose and must be tightened immediately. If it is due to poor insulation, it should be removed for repair.

7. When the generator malfunctions midway and is not too far from the destination, the wires connected to the voltage regulator through the magnetic field coil can be removed. If it is a three brush generator, the third brush must be removed to prevent the generator from generating electricity. Use battery power supply to save electricity as much as possible at this time.

8. The dust ring on the generator should be firm and should not be removed or unused to prevent dust from entering the interior and causing mechanical failure.

9. Regularly clean all wires and keep them dry to prevent electrical leakage
